Healthy Greek Yogurt Blue Cheese Dressing (No Mayo)

is blue cheese healthier than ranch

True or false – blue cheese is greater than ranch? TRUE! I am a blue cheese lover through and through and this greek yogurt blue cheese dressing is it!

It’s thick and creamy, has a nice tang from the yogurt, and goes with so many things – veggies, salads, grilled meats, and just by the spoonful if you love it as much as me.

I’m a huge fan of homemade dressings and sauces. They are such an easy way to add some spice to meals and by making them at home, you know exactly what goes into them. This homemade blue cheese dressing is not different – it gives you that same taste (honestly better in my opinion) you know and love with great ingredients.

Healthy blue cheese dressing ingredients

  • plain greek yogurt – makes it super creamy and adds protein. I used 0% fat.
  • blue cheese crumbles
  • lemon juice – adds some acidity and tang
  • white vinegar
  • garlic – we are using fresh for a little kick
  • salt and pepper

How do you make blue cheese yogurt dressing?

  1. Make the dressing. Add all of your ingredients to a small to medium bowl or jar and stir well to combine. Try it and adjust it according to your taste.
  2. Enjoy! If serving as a dip, I like to sprinkle a little more blue cheese on top for a pretty presentation.

How to serve

This homemade blue cheese dressing is so versatile! We love keeping a jar in the fridge during the week and adding it to different meals. Here are some ways you can use it:

  • salad dressing
  • dip – great served with veggies, crackers, or pretzels
  • with anything buffalo chicken – perfect for buffalo chicken fries, buffalo wings, buffalo chicken zucchini boats, or buffalo chicken burgers
  • sauce for a grain or power bowl
  • as a spread on a sandwich
  • sauce with an easy dinner – we love serving this with some protein (chicken and steak), some veggies, and carbs to spice up weeknight dinners

Storage

  • refrigerator – store in a tightly sealed glass jar (I love to use the ones I mix it in) in the fridge. It will last as long as your yogurt lasts (look at the expiration date on it).

More healthy dressings and sauces

  • creamy lemon garlic sauce
  • burger sauce
  • buffalo sauce
  • red enchilada sauce
  • tzatziki sauce
  • 6 sauces that aren’t mayo
