Join us October 19, 2024 for our 6th annual ROCKTOBERFEST and Monster Splash Seaplane Fly-In. ADMISSION IS FREE and festivities are held in our beautiful, lakeside Wooton Park. Live rock music, seaplane competitions, food trucks, merchandise vendors and downtown businesses will be ready to serve you.
Festivities will begin with our Monster Splash Seaplane Fly-In; whether you’re a pilot, aviation enthusiast, or simply curious about amphibious aircraft, you don’t want to miss this! Seaplanes fly in from all over to participate in our flying competitions, like the crowd’s favorite “Pumpkin Drop” contest. While the pilots compete, we will give pumpkin decorating kits and candy to the first 100 kids at the Pilot Registration Tent. The seaplane flying contests are scheduled to begin at 11:00 am, and the Pilot/Spectator Meet & Greet will be from 1:00 pm- 3:00 pm, where you can get photos with the pilots and their planes.
Following the contests, we will take you on a journey back in time with our power-packed rock show presenting music from the 70s, 80s, and 90s with high-energy performances by Duplicity, Brother Brownlow, SWITCH and returning to Tavares for their second performance is our headliner, The ATOMIC PUNKS unleashing the mighty Van Halen legacy!

In the heart of Pasadena, California, where the iconic Van Halen first ignited their meteoric rise to stardom, a tribute band emerged that would come to embody the very essence of the legendary rock group’s early years. The Atomic Punks, formed in 1994, are more than a tribute band-they are a sonic time capsule, faithfully recreating the magic and energy of Van Halen’s David Lee Roth era.
Boasting an impressive resume of over 1000 shows worldwide, The Atomic Punks have firmly established themselves as the quintessential Van Halen tribute. Recognized as “Best Tribute Band” by LA’s esteemed “Rock City News” multiple times, their influence extends far beyond the stage. The band made history as one of the original acts featured on AXS TV’s ‘The World’s Greatest Tribute,” and their national following continues to swell, reaching new heights with each performance.

In 1997, former Van Halen front man David Lee Roth, in his autobiography “Crazy from the Heat,” bestowed the ultimate compliment upon The Atomic Punks, proclaiming them “The best tribute to Van Halen ever!” This endorsement would evolve into a collaboration, as original Punks guitarist Bart Walsh joined Roth’s “DLR Band” tours from 1999-2001. Brian Young, Walsh’s successor, so authentically replicated Eddie Van Halen’s unparalleled guitar mastery that Roth enlisted him for his 2002 national tour alongside 1 x-Van Halen frontman Sammy Hagar.

The music of the 80’s had a huge influence on us, so when we started the band the majority of the songs we learned were from the 80’s. Our vision was to play shows that featured 80’s music, videos, costumes, decor, celebrity look a likes and everything else. Over the years we have performed at some of the most awesome 80’s themed events and parties. We have also opened for some great 80s bands like Tears for Fears, Loverboy, Rick Springfield, Night Ranger, The Romantics, Berlin and STYX.

The Brother Brownlow Band is a high-energy rock band that plays an upbeat blend of classic rock, danceable 80s hits, and 90s/00s grunge and alternative. Originally formed in Tampa in 2009 as a 4 piece, the band has recently added a 5th member with the addition of a keyboardist. Brother Brownlow now rocks stages with music from the likes of Journey, Bon Jovi, Led Zeppelin, U2, Collective Soul and numerous others. Uniquely, the band also features lead vocals from all 5 members throughout the night, allowing everyone on stage to showcase their talents.
