okay y’all – my long-awaited and highly requested skincare routine blog post is finally here, and i couldn’t be more excited to share! i would encourage you to grab a cup of coffee (or glass of wine depending on the time of day) and get comfy, because it’s a long one! i love talking skincare and i’m going to go pretty in detail about my everyday skincare routine to hopefully answer ALL of your questions!
before i dive into my skincare routine though (and rave all about drunk elephant), let me just say: my morning skincare routine takes probably 5 minutes, and my evening skincare routine takes maybe 7, at the most. when i type it all out, it seems super long but i promise…it’s very simple and doesn’t take long at all!

also before i go through my step-by-step routine…let me give you some background info. as a ‘content creator’, i get sent new product to try out everyday. i have tried out more skincare lines than i even knew existed! some of them were good and worked okay for my skin, and some of them did awful things for my skin. but, my experience with drunk elephant was totally different.
i started using drunk elephant in 2018 and my skin has never consistently looked as healthy as it does now. i started off with just a few of their products (the vitamin C serum and TLC night serum) and could already tell a difference. and then, the more research i did on this brand…the more i saw how important it was to give my skin a ‘clean break’ from harmful ingredients in skincare products (like fragrance, essential oils, etc. Drunk Elephant products do not contain any of those harmful ingredients). so, i bit the bullet and 100% changed my skincare routine over to drunk elephant, and saw amazing results within just a week or two.
STEP 1: CLEANSE
morning and night i wash my face with this drunk elephant jelly cleanser. it does an awesome job of removing all makeup, oil, and dirt, without drying your face out! it’s non-irritating and non-sensitizing and great for every skin type. if i’m wearing A LOT of makeup that day…sometimes i will double cleanse at night. first I’ll get all of my makeup off with this cleansing balm that I’m obsessed with, and then i use the drunk elephant jelly cleanser.
don’t forget to exfoliate!
about two days a week i cleanse in the morning with this drunk elephant ‘juju bar’, which is their exfoliating cleanser. this bar deeply cleanses, subtly exfoliates, and heals your skin. it helps with dullness and uneven texture, dark spots, and oily skin. i love this bar!
STEP 2 (A.M.) VITAMIN C SERUM
a total game changer!
after i wash my face in the morning, i apply 1 pump of this C-Firma serum. i never knew how important a vitamin c serum was for your skin until about a year ago and now i will never NOT use one. this particular serum is packed with antioxidants and essential nutrients for your skin. it helps with uneven skin tone, loss of firmness and elasticity, and dullness/uneven skin texture. so, it’s basically great for anti-aging, breakouts, and helps give your skin that “glow” we all want!
STEP 2 (P.M.) GLYCOLIC ACID SERUM
at night, after i wash my face and pat dry…i apply 1 pump of this TLC night serum. this serum was a game changer for me when it comes to breakouts. honestly the description on Sephora’s website describes it best: ‘A 12 percent AHA/BHA serum for night that refines and resurfaces skin to reveal a smoother and more radiant complexion, while enhancing the performance of other products by clearing the way for maximum absorption. This serum gives you an effective level of chemical exfoliation without the harsh side effects like dryness or sensitization. Fine lines, wrinkles, and discoloration, along with excess oiliness and the appearance of pores, will appear dramatically diminished.’ (I could keep going lol but basically you need this).
STEP 3 (A.M. + P.M.): EYE SERUM
all about eye cream

after i cleanse and apply the appropriate serum for morning and night, i apply less than 1 pump of this C-Tango eye cream. i’ve tried out countless eye creams and this one is definitely the best i’ve ever used. C Tango has a brightening combination of eight peptides, five forms of vitamin C, and cucumber extract for firmer, stronger-looking skin around the eye area. and a tiny bit goes a long way, so this one bottle will last you a long time!
STEP 4 (A.M. + P.M.): MOISTURIZE + HYDRATE
gimme all the hydration!
next step, both morning and night…i now mix 1 drop marula oil with 1 pump of B hydra (if my skin is feeling really dry. i don’t necessarily use B-Hydra morning and night everyday) with 1 pump of protini into my hand (like a little cocktail) and apply to my face. (i will explain what each one of these things does in a second haha). this is one of the reasons why i love Drunk Elephant though. since their products are formulated without parabens, it doesn’t really matter what order you apply them in because they will all still go where they need to go / do what they need to do. it totally simplifies your skincare routine.
Marula oil is one of my favorite drunk elephant products and a must-have in my opinion. it’s a wonder-working luxury facial oil, high in critical antioxidants, to deeply moisturize, nourish, soothe, and rejuvenate your skin while restoring its youthful glow. this highly absorbable oil delivers clinically proven results to reverse visible signs of aging, as well as incredible antioxidant benefits to combat environmental stressors and free radicals. you need this in your skincare routine!!!
B hydra is super helpful for anyone who battles dry skin. it’s a super-hydrating vitamin B5 gel that replenishes nutrients and delivers hydration to your face throughout the day.
Protini is my all time favorite moisturizer i have ever used. it’s a breakthrough protein moisturizer that combines an unprecedented array and concentration of actives for improvement in the appearance of skin’s tone, texture, and firmness. Protini is like adding a scoop of protein to your smoothie – SO important. Protini’s formula delivers younger, revived-looking skin, almost from the first application. lines, wrinkles and signs of sun-damage appear reduced; depleted skin feels strengthened and moisturized. the formula’s concentration of signal peptides, growth factors, supportive amino acids, and pygmy waterlily extract provide visible and immediate results. worth every penny. you need this moisturizer.
STEP 5 (A.M): SPF OR GLOW!
glow getter
if i know i’m going outside shortly after i do my morning skincare routine, i always apply SPF. this umbra tinte is my favorite SPF product. it’s a tinted sunscreen that not only has UVA/UVB protection, but also helps aid in the prevention of free radical and oxidative damage as well as photoaging for a more youthful-looking complexion! so, in the mornings for my final step of my skincare routine…i either apply that, OR this new HydroPeptide Solar Defense Tinted SPF i have been loving! i especially love it on no makeup days. it hydrates + rejuvenates your skin while also providing a little bit of coverage and glow, AND protecting it from the sun all at the same time. it’s super lightweight but feels so hydrating & refreshing! it also lays really well underneath foundation if you want to use it as a primer! a must-have for summer for sure!
TWICE A WEEK TREATMENT
all of the extra tlc for your skin
when I wasn’t pregnant, I used TLC Babyfacial twice a week for the most powerful exfoliating treatment you could ever dream of. seriously, your skin is baby soft after just one use. this product has won SO many awards and been in so many magazines, and rightfully so. (i don’t use it now that i’m pregnant because of the high amount of salicylic acid). it gently but efficiently resurface the skin as it exfoliates, getting rid of built-up dead skin cells by breaking down the substance that holds them to the surface. think of it as an extra nudge for stubborn, dull skin! you apply it to clean skin, leave on for 15-20 minutes and then rinse. this is great for anti-aging, breakouts, and any other skin problem you could ever imagine!
skincare routine recap
my favorite skincare products!
whew. told y’all this was a lot of information haha. but i promise, the routine is way more simpler when you’re doing it vs writing it! i just wanted to explain what each product does and why i like it.

if you’re interested in trying out Drunk Elephant products but don’t want to take the plunge and buy the entire line…I get it. I would suggest purchasing the littles kit – it’s the entire drunk elephant line, in travel-friendly sizes for under $100. (however, the eye cream and moisturizer are different in this kit than the ones i mentioned above. they are still great though!). or, if you just want to start off with 3 products…i would suggest getting C-Firma serum, TLC night serum, and Marula oil. after you try those 3 out, i promise you will be hooked!
like i mentioned above, i am still using all of these products during pregnancy, other than the babyfacial mask. i checked with my healthcare provider and she approved all of them, but like always…if you are pregnant, please check with your healthcare provider about what’s best for you!
if you’re struggling to know where to start with a skincare routine, i highly recommend either going into a Sephora, or browsing their website. every girl knows how much fun it is to go into Sephora but honestly i LOVE shopping for beauty products on their website. i love reading reviews, seeing what things are rated…and reading the detailed descriptions about a product. Sephora has such a HUGE selection of skincare products at all price points. i promise you’ll be able to find something there that works for you! (Or someTHINGS really).
thanks for reading! let me know if y’all have any questions in the comments below!
