I’ve started using Kylie Cosmetics in 2016. I did wait a while before trying her liquid lipsticks as I was a little skeptical if they were as good as everyone says. I finally bought into it and got addicted for a while, buying all the different lipsticks Kylie kept releasing so quickly. The matte liquid lipsticks lasted all day, had many new colors to choose from, and they barely smudge. So when Kylie Skin came out in 2019, I was all for it since I love skincare and I liked the ingredients that she used in her products. Also, I just really wanted to see if it was worth the hype. I’ve tried most of the Kylie Skin products and here is my honest review. If you are still debating on whether or not it’s worth buying into the Kylie hype, this review might help you!
Makeup Removing Wipes
These makeup removing wipes/towelettes come in a pack of 30 and removes dirt, makeup, and oil from the skin.
Bạn đang xem: Kylie Skin Collection Review – Worth The Hype?
Key Ingredients: Aloe leaf extract, chamomile, cucumber extract, oat kernel extract, glycerin and vitamin E
My Thoughts: It had a light, decent scent. But the wipes were quite dry to me and because of that, I did have to wipe my makeup a little harder than normal to remove it. I also wasn’t able to remove all of my makeup. There was still residue compared to other makeup wipes I’ve used. It definitely will not work for waterproof makeup. The wipe itself however, was a good thickness.
Verdict: Not for me! Will not repurchase, there are much better makeup removing wipes out there.
Foaming Face Wash
Kylie Skin is well known for its Foaming Face Wash. One pump is all you need and it’s easily spreadable. This cleanser removes dirt, oil and makeup for a bright and clean complexion. You may have seen testers in stores that look a little yellow when it should be clear, but that’s because the foaming face wash is made with naturally derived ingredients that can turn yellow due to light sensitivity. So it’s nothing to be alarmed about.
Key Ingredients: Glycerin and coconut-based surfactants (alternative to sulfates that cause products to foam)
My Thoughts: I have to admit I quite liked this cleanser as it surprisingly did not dry my skin out like most cleansers do. It felt smooth and gentle and I loved that it was one of the few cleansers I’ve tried that did not leave a feeling of tightness on my skin after without having to apply toner or moisturizer right away.
Verdict: It’s a buy! I will repurchase/buy full-size.
Walnut Face Scrub
This scrub caused a little bit of disturbance when it came out as it is made with walnut and it’s said that it is too harsh and abrasive for the skin. But there’s been tests done where apparently this scrub will not harm the skin with its physical exfoliant. It’s best to use this scrub once a week to buff away dead skin cells and extra dirt from the skin. But avoid using this if you have an open wound on the skin.
Key Ingredients: Exfoliating fine walnut powder and botanical blend of fruit extracts, squalane and sodium hyaluronate
My Thoughts: I was hesitant on using this, but because of the good reviews, I thought I’d give it a try. The walnut scrub wasn’t as harsh as I thought it’d be and it actually left my skin very smooth and soft after.
Verdict: Not for me! It’s a good scrub as it works, but I wouldn’t repurchase. There are other scrubs I prefer that are sugar based and probably safer for the skin despite all the testing.
Vanilla Milk Toner
This toner is alcohol-free and gentle like it implies with the word milk in its name. It helps balance the skin after cleansing and preps you for the next step in your skincare routine. It has a light, fresh scent to it.
Key Ingredients: Squalane and sodium hyaluronate, apple fruit extract, and avocado oil
My Thoughts: It did feel very gentle on the skin and was a slightly thicker consistency than other toners as it is more milky. It smells a little coconut-y and feels very refreshing.
Verdict: It’s a maybe! I think this vanilla milk toner is great for everyday use. Although I think that I may prefer a toner that’s not so milky and one that’s more targeted towards my needs. I wouldn’t mind using this as an alternate or when my skin is feeling more sensitive.
Hydrating Face Mask

This creamy hydrating face mask moisturizers, soothes, and nourishes the skin. You can apply this mask 2-3 times a week for 10-15 minutes at a time, or leave it on overnight for extra hydration.
Key Ingredients: Shea butter, niacinamide (Vitamin B3), and Vitamin E
My Thoughts: It feels like a thicker moisturizer when I apply it, so it’s definitely hydrating. When I woke up in the morning my face felt soft and more plump. I did feel a slight residue/thickness as well, but that’s to be expected as you are supposed to wash it off in the morning.
Verdict: It’s a buy! It’s great if you need extra hydration or have dry skin. I think this face mask may work better for me during the winter when my skin is more dry. I used this in the spring so I might not have seen as big of a difference as I wanted. Would definitely try this mask again when my skin is drier!
Eye Cream
This eye cream comes in a plastic squeeze tube with the tip shaped so that you can massage the eye cream onto your eyes. It helps hydrate, brighten, and reduce dark circles and puffiness as well as the first appearance of fine line and wrinkles.
Key Ingredients: Caffeine, green tea, and pomegranate extracts, a potent form of Vitamin C (ethyl ascorbic acid and tetrahexydecyl ascorbate), shea butter, and jojoba seed oil
My Thoughts: I tried to use the applicator to smooth out the eye cream and massage the eye area but because it has a plastic tip instead of a metal one, it didn’t feel like it had the intended effect. It was also a little messy spreading the eye cream out. Instead, I just squeeze a little bit onto my fingers and apply it that way. It also has a light yellow color that I think is supposed to imitate banana powder for brightening the under-eyes. There’s no scent to this eye cream and it is quite hydrating and creamy. I’ve used a full tube and have an extra one in backstock but I don’t see much difference in terms of dark circles and puffiness. That could also be because my dark circles are pretty bad – you can also read my post on 2 Products To Instantly Improve Dark Circles and Puffy Eyes to add to your routine. I do however, believe that it is great for preventative measures. I will try the second tube and see if I get more results from a longer use.
Verdict: It’s a maybe! I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy this, but I wouldn’t mind reusing it again.
Vitamin C Serum
This Vitamin C Serum is supposed to deeply moisturize the top layers of the skin as well as brighten and give your skin a healthy-looking glow and diminish dullness.
Key Ingredients: Like the eye cream, it has a potent form of Vitamin C (ethyl ascorbic acid and tetrahexydecyl ascorbate), glycerin and safflower seed oil
My Thoughts: Rather than a watery serum, this was a bit milkier/creamier. It has a very light natural scent that most Vitamin C serums (with little to no fragrance) smells like? It’s hard to explain the scent, but it does not bother me at all. It is very smooth to apply. And the best part is it that it works! I saw results in less than a week – acne scars lessened, and my skin was brighter and less dull.
Verdict: It’s a buy! Definitely will repurchase. Give me that glow!
Hyaluronic Acid Serum
The Kylie Skin Hyaluronic Acid Serum is a lightweight, milky serum. It provides deep hydration and moisture and has vitamins, antioxidants and 4 layers of hyaluronic acid.
Key Ingredients: 4 layers of hyaluronic acid, niacinamide (Vitamin B3), rice bran water, snow algae, and palmitoyl tripeptide-38.
My Thoughts: My initial impression is that the smell of this serum is very strong. It smells like black licorice and lasts for a very long time and I smell it on my face throughout the day even with moisturizer, sunscreen, and makeup on. However, I will say that the hyaluronic acid is very effective. It gets rid of my dry patches and plumps up my skin quickly. The texture is slightly thicker than other serums as it is more milky. It layers well under different moisturizers as well as makeup too.
Verdict: Not for me! Because of the scent of this serum, I will not being repurchasing this even though it works and does the job. It’s one of the very few beauty products that I can’t really stand the smell of. It’s a shame since the hyaluronic acid serum works great.
Face Moisturizer
This moisturizer helps hydrate the skin without feeling heavy, greasy or oily. The formula for this cream is supposed to smooth, soften, and condition the skin.

Key Ingredients: Shea butter, sodium hyaluronate, banana leaf, oat bran extract, orange peel extract, and glycerin
My Thoughts: I first tried to use this in the winter when I had really dry skin, but after 2 uses, it was not hydrating enough for me with the harsh weather. I ended up having to use this in the springtime. You can read My Skincare Journey Today – Part 3 to see what actually worked for me during the winter. Now that the weather is better, I have to say it’s an effective and hydrating moisturizer. It has a very light scent, it’s easily spreadable and you only need one pump. It’s moisturizing enough for all day and works well under makeup. I do really like that it’s very smooth on the skin and that it doesn’t feel heavy at all. I only need one pump for my entire face and I actually really enjoyed using this.
Verdict: It’s a buy! I would repurchase this moisturizer. It’s also a great everyday moisturizer and super easy to use with the pump.
Clear Complexion Correction Stick
The Clear Complexion Correction Stick is a gel serum that gently exfoliates acne and blemishes, blackheads and whiteheads. It also helps improve the skin texture in those areas and is great for combination and oily skin. You can also apply this up to 3 times a day.
Key Ingredients: Salicylic acid (BHA: Beta Hydroxy Acid) & Glycolic Acid (AHA: Alpha Hydroxy Acid) and witch hazel
My Thoughts: First off, the Kylie Skin Clear Complexion Correction Stick comes in a liquid lipstick or lip gloss type of packaging. For using something that is supposed to be for clean skin and to get rid of blemishes, I personally don’t like that you use this to touch on the targeted spot and put it back in the tube. You also can’t apply “too much” as the product starts peeling/rubbing off on the skin and looks like you have flaky skin when it’s more than a couple passes over a blemish. It applies well under makeup once you’ve let it dry and if you don’t overuse it. In terms of effectiveness, it does help reduce pimples but it takes a few days. It will slowly minimize the blemish but it didn’t seem to take it away completely. This may be good for someone who has very mild blemishes.
Verdict: Not for me! For faster-acting and strong blemish treatments, check out My Skincare Journey Part 1.
Broad Spectrum SPF 40 Face Sunscreen
An invisible face sunscreen that not only protects your face from UVA and UVB rays, it also helps moisturize the skin. It’s silky to the touch and lightweight. You’ll need to apply it at least 15 minutes before sun exposure, and reapply every 2 hours. It also only ships to the US.
Key Ingredients: Meadowfoam estolide, shea butter, Himanthialia Elongata Extract, Laminaria Hyperborea Extract, and Vitamin E
My Thoughts: This is the best face sunscreen I’ve used so far! I love that it’s invisible and does not leave a white cast on the face. It’s also silky smooth, sort of like a silicone primer, but it’s not heavy and doesn’t feel like it’s clogging my pores. There’s no scent and one of the best thing about this sunscreen is that it’s reef safe as well. It applies well under makeup – I don’t even need to use a primer! Now, the absolute biggest downside to this, is that the sunscreen is not zinc oxide or titanium dioxide based (which are the only 2 ingredients that the FDA deems safe and effective as they do not disrupt your hormones or penetrate the skin). The Kyle Skin Face Sunscreen has high percentages of avobenzone, homosalate, octocrylene, and octisalate (read more on the toxicity of sunscreen ingredients or you can do your own research). I got a little too excited about this product without first checking the active ingredients and have another in backstock. But once I finish it, I have some other safer sunscreens in mind to use and will review!
Verdict: No – purely because it doesn’t have safe active ingredients. It’s such a shame because everything else about it is perfect. I hope the active ingredient will be improved in the future.
Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen Oil
This all over sunscreen oil protects the skin from UVA and UVB rays. It is also hydrating and is filled with antioxidants and fatty acids to promote healthy skin. It comes in a non-aerosol spray bottle and can be applied easily. Apply this sunscreen oil 30 minutes before sun exposure and reapply every 90 minutes to 2 hours to protect from sun exposure. Like the Face Sunscreen, it only ships to the US.
Key Ingredients: Coconut oil, shea butter, grape seed oil, and sunflower seed oil
My Thoughts: It’s my first time using a sunscreen oil, and I was little skeptical but when I tried it I loved it. It’s easily applicable and spreadable, feels moisturizing, and it has a nice coconut scent to it. It’s also invisible like the face sunscreen and doesn’t leave a white cast which is always a plus. Like the face sunscreen though, the only downside that makes me not want to repurchase are the active ingredients it uses.
Verdict: No – same answer and reason why as the Broad Spectrum SPF 40 Face Sunscreen.
Overall Thoughts On The Kylie Skin Care Collection
- It’s a bonus that Kylie Skin is a cruelty-free, paraben free, and sulfate free company. And for those who need it, also gluten free and vegan.
- I absolutely love the pink packaging, it’s very simple but calming in a way, and cute. Also looks great in my bathroom.
- Prices for the skincare products I reviewed are definitely affordable and there’s always sales – that’s when I buy my products. They can go up to 30% off around Black Friday or Christmastime, but there are random discounts throughout the year as well.
- There are some Kylie Skin products that are absolutely amazing, and there are ones that are a miss for me personally. The Kylie Skin Vitamin C Serum will definitely be a staple in my skincare arsenal and I’d like to repurchase ASAP. I would also repurchase the Foaming Face Wash, Vanilla Milk Toner, and Face Moisturizer when I’ve tried all other brands’ products that I’ve had my eye on. If you’ve read my other posts, you’ll know that I love trying new products and since there are so many, it might be a while before I repurchase some of the ones from Kylie Skin, but i definitely will!
- I’m currently not really interested in the candles, body products, and a few of the other products in the Kylie Skin line that I did not review, but I will get my hands on the lip scrub, clarifying facial oil, and makeup melting cleanser soon!
