I’ve been using this oil for my hair and skin for months and I’m so impressed that I needed to share this oil with you guys! No gatekeeping here, that’s for sure. 🤍
What is Batana oil?
Batana oil is the oil extracted from the nuts of the American palm tree! The American palm tree is native to the rainforests of Honduras. This is where indigenous communities have been using this oil for their healthy hair and skin for centuries. The native Miskito people call themselves Tawira which means “people of beautiful hair.” I’ll be using what they’re using!
This miracle oil is rich in vitamins and unsaturated fatty acids. Also, 90% of its nutritional content is made of oleic and linoleic acid.
Batana oil is commonly marketed as a hair oil but don’t be fooled, this is just as amazing for your skin so let’s go over the benefits for both!
Choose cold-pressed

When searching for Batana oil, you will see cold-pressed and roasted which is simply the extraction method. The biggest indicator between the two is cold pressed will be an ivory hue versus the darker brown hue of roasted. Why should you choose cold-pressed though?
Cold-pressing preserves nutrients and compounds that could be degraded by heat. You want the most of your Batana oil. Heat can alter the chemical structure which means the oil could lose its effectiveness.
Also, cold-pressed is best for sensitive scalps. This is because it’s considered more natural, without using chemicals or additives.

What about hair growth? Batana oil will nourish and hydrate your scalp creating a healthy growing environment. Because of its nourishing properties, that is what will help make your hair grow.
As I mentioned, I’ve been using this oil for a month now and I have baby hairs all over! I’d like to believe it’s because I’ve been using this consistently.
Batana Oil for Skin
If you have dry skin like I do, you’ll love this. I have Keratosis Pilaris on my arms and this oil has my skin feeling so silky smooth!
