An Honest Look in My Skincare Cabinet

Admittedly, a serious perk of my job is the amount of beauty products I get to test out and review. From skincare, to makeup and haircare, I constantly have offers to sample the latest and greatest and share them. Of all of these offers I get, I usually will only agree to sample products from either brands I already use, or ones I have been interested in trying. From there, I incorporate these products into my routine for a couple of months. If I don’t find myself reaching for it after that amount of time, I tend to rotate it out of my cabinet for something new.

I was inspired to write this post because it occurred to me that I typically only share my skincare routine when it’s either a sponsored post, or on a very rare occasion when I randomly remember to (#badblogger). In reality, I’m constantly cycling between all of the products in my cabinet depending on my current needs/mood (because some nights just call for La Mer, if you know what I mean).

Today I’m sharing an honest look inside my beauty cabinet – to share with you what has withstood the test of time and become a front runner in the skincare department. As I mentioned, I only hold on to products I actually use. I’ve had lots of luxury skincare products I let go simply because they didn’t work for me/I didn’t see benefits of using them. That said, here are my current favorites and the reasons I use them!

Face Washes

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water: the first step in my skincare routine, always

Tula Cult Classic Purifying Face Cleanser: my daily all-purpose face wash

Tula Keep It Clear Foam Cleanser: perfect for when I’m having breakouts (I notice a difference in my skin immediately)

Dermalogica Precleanse Oil: my most hydrating face wash

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant: for when my skin feels like it needs a good exfoliation

Indie Lee Rosehip Cleanser: my least used cleanser, but love that its clean and hydrating

Masks

Darphin Hydrating Kiwi Mask: a more luxe mask that I use for hydrating. I love that it only has to stay on for a few minutes and wipes off

Elemis Dynamic Resurfacing Gel Mask: I use this when my skin looks dull and needs some serious refreshing

Tula Kefir Ultimate Recovery Mask: my most used mask for overnight hydration

Naturopathica Sweet Cherry Brightening Enzyme Peel: my most intense mask but it delivers amazing brightening results

Summer Fridays Overtime Mask: my best exfoliating mask. My skin feels so smooth after washing it off (Jet Lag is also a favorite but I just ran out)

Moisturizers

Tula 24-7 Moisture Day & Night Cream: my go-to every day moisturizer, day or night

Darphin Hydraskin Light: a luxe version of the day & night cream. it’s super lightweight and great for daytime/under makeup

Supergoop! Superscreen Daily Moisturzier SPF40: my go-to moisturizer in the summer or any day I’ll be outside (I use this in the morning)

Origins Ginzing Oil Free Energy-Boosting Gel Moisturizer: a recent addition, but it leaves my skin so hydrated for hours (I mostly use this at night)

Charlotte Tilbuy Magic Cream: a great moisturizer for under makeup. I find it blurs pores and acts as a great primer

Elemis Pro-Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm: I don’t use this one as often as the Charlotte Tilbury, but it is also a great base for makeup with a little illumination

La Mer Moisturizing Cool Gel Cream: a skincare splurge! I use this sparingly and on nights when I want a pamper

Naturopathica Argan & Retinol Wrinkle Repair Night Cream: I use this one about once or twice a week a night to incorporate retinol into my routine

Clarins Pore Control Serum: I don’t notice a difference in my pores, but this product is SO hydrating and smells so good. I swear it makes my skin softer than any other product

Serums/Oils/Treatments

OSEA Essential Hydrating Oil: I use this almost every night – it’s great for hydration

Indie Lee Squalane Facial Oil: morning version of the hydrating oil. It seems to soak in quicker and hydrates my skin

Dermalogica Phyto Replenish Oil: use this under foundation to lock in moisture & for a dewy glow

True Botanicals Renew Pure Radiance Oil: my least used oil, but I’m still testing it out. It moisturizes and is supposed to slow signs of aging.

OSEA Hyaluronic Sea Serum: helps with glowy and firm skin. I use this about once or twice a week at night

La Mer Treatment Lotion: great product for skin texture, but for the price, I prefer others over this one

Indie Lee COQ-10 Toner: almost out of this, but it’s a great daily toner

Tula Pro-Glycolic 10% pH Resurfacing Gel: helps even out my overall skin tone. It’s light enough that I can put it on in the morning

The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA: swear by this product! my skin looks renewed after just one use. I try to use it at least twice a week. Oh – and it’s under $7

Tula Volume Defense Deep Wrinkle Serum: almost out of this and it’s currently out of stock, but it’s a nice and hydrating wrinkle serum

Naturopathica Argan & Peptide Wrinkle Repair Eye Cream: my only eye cream I use currently (probably use it 3x per week)

Naturopathica Vitamin C15 Wrinkle Repair Serum: usually alternate this out with the the product below for vitamin C at night

Naturopathica Vitamin C Revitalizing Lotion: use about 3 nights a week to help get vitamin C into my skincare routine

Tula Go Away Acne Spot Treatment: a game-changer in acne treatment – my spot is usually gone by the next day

Tula Clear It Up Correcting Gel: an all over treatment for acne. I use this sparingly when I’m having multiple breakouts

Misc & SPF

OSEA Anti-Aging Hand Cream: not quite skincare, but I always use it at the end of my routine and swear by it

Supergoop! Bright-Eyed 100% Mineral Eye Cream with SPF: brightens and protects delicate areas of under eye during the day

Supergoop! Glow Stick: use as a highlighter on my face during the summer

Supergoop! Sunscreen Oil SPF 50: super hydrating option to work SPF into your skincare routine

Tula Rose Glow & Get It Eye Balm: I use this every morning under my makeup to wake up my under eyes and help de-puff

Mario Badescu Rosewater Facial Spray: my favorite facial spray. I use it probably 3-4 times daily

True Botanicals Renew Nutrient Mist: testing out this one as a night time spray – so far I love it and wake up with hydrated skin

Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen: a great lightweight SPF for under makeup. If you only need one SPF product, I recommend the Superscreen Moisturizer instead
