Best Bra for Elderly Women | My Honest Review (2024) – Liberare

older women with large breasts

My name is Margaret, I’m 65 years old and a size 36DD. I am a former bra fitter (from 1988 – 2003) in Georgia. Today, I’d like to talk about the best bras made for older women.

I have three that I will recommend later in this blog (Everyday Easy-On Bra & Comfort Seamless Bra, Wrap Bralette), but first I will walk you through my expertise, journey, and what I look for in a 5-star bra as an older woman in 2024.

Easy dressing has become my top priority, and I have been searching for a bra that is easy to put on, doesn’t require pinching, and is comfortable to wear.

I started searching for this bra when my osteoarthritis in my hands started getting progressively worse and I could no longer pinch hard enough to hold the bra together and fasten. After my torn rotator cuff, I couldn’t use my shoulder. That was the last straw.I looked for bras that I knew during my time as a bra fitter. I looked at front-closure bras with hooks up the front (but the hooks were too hard to do with my hands). I couldn’t do pull-over bras due to my shoulders. My requirements for a 5-star bra for older women:

  • Wireless: I cannot have any pinching under my bust as I will bruise easily
  • Built for DD+: I can tell if a bra if really built for a DD based on the stitching. The T-seam in a wireless bra holds up well and offers great wireless support
  • Easy-On: I cannot do hooks on my bras and I needed an easy-on front-closure.

“Best bras for older women not only have wireless comfort & lift for sagging breasts, but they must also be easy-on.”

I found my holy-grail of a bra on Oprah Daily. It was named “Best Supportive Bras for Mature Women.” I hadn’t heard of this company during my bra fitting years. It is a new company but highly recognized. I didn’t recognize the type of front-closure, but I bought it with the hopes of better understanding.

Here is my honest, unbiased review of the Everyday Easy On Bra. The name speaks for itself, a bra that I wear everyday that is unbelievably easy to put on. I was looking for a front-closure bra as that seemed the most logical and easiest to put on.It came with free shipping in about 4 days. Nicely wrapped and with a very nice instruction card of how to use it.

I have recently struggled with holding the two sides together in a normal bra and then twisting it around to put on, it’s like a full workout in the morning that isn’t needed. You simply put on this bra as you would a coat, easy peasy.

1. Recommendation: Everyday Easy-On Bra (bands 34-44 B-G)

This is a front-close wireless bra that I love! Although this first model is smaller busted, I can assure you this bra is built for bigger busts. (I’ve added a full video reviews of this bra at the end of this article!)

The fasteners are what sold it for me. They are magnetic and glide together; it did all the work for me, I didn’t need to pinch or hook anything. In all my years, I have never seen anything like this. They came together and locked. The best part is that they have these loops so I can fit a finger through to pull together. In all my years, I had never seen anything like this.

It’s reassuring to know this bra will last me a long time especially if my arthritis in my fingers get any worse. It’s been designed to be wireless with it’s beautifully done T-Seam yet still gives me the support of my D breasts. I wear this everyday now without a doubt. I will recommend getting a laundry bag to wash this bra in. I’m not a fan of hand washing bras and need to buy bras that are machine washable. I have now put mine in the washer and dryer 8 times and they are still great.

I did whip out my measuring tape to make sure I had the right size. One thing I know as a bra fitter is every single brand a different sizing for bras. There is no standard across any undergarments brand. Looking at size charts is absolutely critical.

I wore this bra for 4 days straight. No wear and tear. Stay put all day and was very comfortable and kept my lift and supported.

It’s important to note: this is not a wire bra. It will not lift you like a wire bra does. It’s a gentle support and that is the best you can do with an wireless bra.

This is truly the best bra for older women. It checks every box.

2. Recommendation: Comfort Front-Close Wireless Bra

This buttery soft seamless wireless bra has wide straps, easy front close, and ranges from bands 34 – 44 cups A – DDD (F).

This bra would be ranked first if it has a bit more support, as supportive as the Everyday Easy-On bra (which really keeps the ladies hiked up!) but this has to be the softest fabric I have yet to find on the bra market.

This bra is also easy-on and I love how it fits bra sizes A – DDD (F) bands 34 – 44. It has the widest straps of this recommendation list and therefore has the least amount of weight on your shoulders.

Of course, this bra is also front-close as it it irresistibly easy to put on.

This bras is made from a technique called “Seamless Knit” which I started to see pop up in my bra fitting store right before I retired in 2001 are a great type of bra that require special machinery to knit because they have no seams. Given how well it’s made and this advanced technique, $54 bucks is a steal! With absolutely no seams, seamless bras are perfect for older women who might have sensitivity.

This is the bra I wear under t-shirts for my day to day activities, but not one I would go out to dinner in (as it doesn’t have enough support for me). I have never found a seamless front-closure bra made for older women anywhere. I wear this bra about 3 or 4 times a week.

3. Recommendation: Wrap Bralette

The Front Closure Wrap Bralette was something I bought from Liberare after buying the Everyday Easy-On Bra. I was thoroughly impressed with the first bra and wanted to try the next. This lounge bralette is for the days where I’m in pain or pottering around the house.

Bralettes will never have the right support as a bra like the Everyday Easy-On Bra but it certainly is a nice relaxing bra.
