Provides a range of services including women’s health, maternity, immunization, TB prevention and more. The Washington County Health Unit is also the administrator for the state Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program (see below).

Women, Infants and Children (WIC)

WIC is the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children. Arkansas WIC is a program within the Arkansas Department of Health.

WIC provides: supplemental foods high in nutrients needed for growth and development, nutrition education; information, support and encouragement for breastfeeding, and referrals for other health services. Information can be obtained at your local County Health Unit. (see above)
