Hey loves!

Let’s get right into this review of the Mane Choice Heavenly Halo Herbal Hair Tonic & Soy Milk Deep Hydration Collection. FIRST OF ALL, I am sick of these natural hair brands coming out with such LONGGGGG titles for their products! Shea Moisture is the Queen of this! Let’s boycott!!

Okay besides the name, which is an F to me, let’s see what I thought about this product. And as usual, for my visual people out there, I uploaded my review on my YouTube channel if you want to see these products being used in action! Click Here

I am huge on packaging and I must say that the color scheme of these products are really cute! I love that the leave-in conditioner is a pump and the prepoo was a squeeze tube. That was quite nice!

Score: A

Okayyyy… soooo this is where I had a bit of an issue. These products aren’t the cheapest and I had a hard time wanting to pay for the $20 deep conditioner that was only 8 fl oz! The conditioner, shampoo and softening milk were $15.99 and the prepoo and serum oil mist was $14.99.

Score: D

I will admit that these products smelled nice. It can’t put my finger on it to thoroughly describe it but it smells sweet, with a hint of roses. I DON’T KNOW! lol. It was nice, that’s all I can really say, you’ll have to smell it yourself.

As for the consistency, they were all different so…

  • Prepoo: Thick and creamy but it was pretty hard to detangle and it was a tad bit sticky to the touch
  • Shampoo: Runny and it lathered really easily. It felt like your typical shampoo, it wasn’t extremely thick or watery either.
  • Conditioner: A little thick, however it was hard to detangle
  • Mask: This wasn’t as thick as I would have liked…thickness test: If you can tip the jar over and it spills out, its not as thick (as least for me) and when I did the “thickness test” this mask wanted to spill right out of the jar! Also, I couldn’t detangle with this either!
  • Softening Milk: Extremely light and creamy. I was able to get a teeny weeny bit of slip with it.
  • Serum oil mist: Ehh it was an oil serum thing, so it felt as such. *shrugs*

Score: C

Are these products moisturizing? NOPE! The end!

… The fact that this WHOLE Mane Choice collection is based on DEEP HYDRATION and every single product (except for one) was not hydrating AT ALL frustrates me!! Okay so let me explain… from the prepoo, shampoo, conditioner, mask I COULDN’T DETANGLE, and it also left my hair dry as a batch of hay! I was actually scared that my hair would snap! That is how dry it was!

The ONLY thing that made me feel A LITTLE better was the Herbal Hair Tonic & Soy Milk Deep Hydration Softening Milk… It did add a “softness” to my hair but let’s get one thing straight… SOFTNESS does not mean it’s MOISTURIZED! My hair still looked and felt dry, but it was soft… *rolls eyes* And the serum was just there… didn’t do much at all.

Sidenote: I had to perform a recovery session for my hair because it was in terrible condition after these products. I did both a protein and moisturizing routine, along with a clarifying shampoo to get my hair back on track.

Score: F

I hated these products with a passion and although I was highly pissed, I happily skipped back to Target and returned EVERY. SINGLE. PRODUCT! I am not sure why my hair wasn’t compatible with these products. Maybe they don’t work with low porosity hair, who knows. All I know is, I won’t be trying the Body Wash and Lotion that is part of this line!! My skin might become as dry as the Sahara desert! Nope! I am all set with this whole collection!

Have you tried this collection? If so, what are your thoughts?

XOXO,

AmbitionWrites
